What are you hiding behind?

So Samuel brought near all the tribes of Israel and the tribe of Benjamin was taken. Then he brought near the tribe of Benjamin by its families. And the family of Matri was chosen. Then Saul the son of Kish was taken. But when they sought him, he could not be found. Therefore they inquired again of the Lord, “Has the man come here yet?” And the Lord answered, “He has hidden himself among the equipment.” So they ran and took him from there. When he stood among the people, he was taller than any of the people from his shoulders and upward. Then Samuel said to all the people, “Do you see him whom the Lord has chosen? Truly there is none like him among all the people.” And all the people shouted and said, “Long live the king.”
1 Samuel 10:20‭-‬24 MEV

When Samuel went to present Israel’s first king to the people, Saul was discovered “hiding among the baggage.” The Hebrew word for baggage symbolizes the self-imposed limitations that hinder you from tackling the job God appointed you to do.

Things like these: (1) Feelings of inadequacy. Saul’s first reaction when he learned he had been chosen as king was, “Am I not…from the smallest tribe of Israel…the least of all?” (1Sa 9:21 NIV).

When you fail to figure God into the equation, you will always feel “less than.” Instead of focusing on your weaknesses and inabilities, concentrate on “the incredible greatness of God’s power” (Eph 1:19 NLT). Choose today to see beyond your inabilities, and see the influence God has on your life. We always tend to get what we focus on, so it’s foolish to concentrate on our weaknesses.

(2) Fear of what others might think. The writer of Proverbs tells us “fearing people is a dangerous trap” (Pr 29:25 NLT). And Saul fell into it headfirst! When Samuel confronted him for failing to obliterate the Amalekites, he replied, “I was afraid of the people and did what they demanded” (1Sa 15:24 NLT).

God’s Word assures us, “I will never leave thee nor forsake thee. So…we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper…I will not fear what man shall do unto me” (Heb 13:5-6). Once you take hold of that truth and act on it, you will find there is nothing to be afraid of. We live according to the word , the word dwells inside of us .The word is guaranteed in our existence since we are a breathing reflection of the word of God to the nations.

(3) Being overly pragmatic. The Bible says, “A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways” (Jas 1:8). And Saul fit the bill to a tee! When he didn’t hear from God, he took matters into his own hands and consulted a spiritualist. And after vowing not to victimize David, he repeatedly hunted him down. Adaptability is commendable, but God requires consistency and commitment.

The minute you begin looking at yourself in the manner God recognizes you, your stamina changes for the better. Stop hiding behind baggage and self-condemnation, in his eyes Jesus Christ has washed you clean. This is the season to formulate aggressive moves towards your destiny.

We have been hiding for far too long, enough is enough. In this era, we will take over, no sickness will stop us. Everywhere you were rejected before they will start looking for you. The Voice of God will communicate on your behalf.

Start celebrating for God has remembered you today !

To whom do you belong?

Who you are and to whom you belong affects everything else you do in this  life from your social status , financial status and health status . We can’t choose our parents, skin complexion and places we are born but they are certain decisions we have to make . It is these decisions that really gives us the edge in life or keep us in poverty.

Every day we are faced with a lot of decisions some minor and others big, so in every decision, we make always consider the result of our actions  (where we are going and what we want to achieve in life). Every action is carried from what we truly identify with.

This is no longer a season to sugarcoat the scriptures, we can’t afford to be on living on the fence anymore. Once you are born what’s left is to die consequently meeting the architect of the universe. Is humanity prepared for the day of Judgement??

“There are no unowned men. We are, every one of us, either ranked under the banner of Prince Immanuel, to serve Him and fight His battles, or
else beneath the Black Prince, Satan—enrolled to do evil and to perish in our sins! It is a very proper question, then, to ask of every man and
woman, ‘To whom do you belong?’”

Charles Spurgeon

We are inhabiting an era where multitudes are confused about their identity. Some have preferred to be homosexuals whilst some are very uncertain they don’t even comprehend whether they are male or female anymore. Lucifer is at work he is on a mission to destroy people, funny from our culture mankind identified each other by gender and the devil just had to confuse people on that one too.

You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. They are of the world. Therefore they speak as of the world, and the world hears them. We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.
I John 4:4‭-‬6 NKJV

The turmoil comes from the devil, it’s a pity many have plunged into this pit of an identity crisis. We are of God and as his ambassadors, we operate on different principles from worldly ideologies. Whilst public opinion says leave your marriage once you are not happy, we detest divorce because our Father in Heaven hates divorce! Most decisions prove the words you are listening to , whether you are investing time in the wisdom of God or worldly philosophies.

God loves everyone, but he expands some to positions of power whilst some suffer in deprivation and stagnation. One God serving good for those who love him and pursuing his principles yet not responding to his enemies. So this statement shows that one can be an enemy of God.It only makes sense to love God with all our hearts and minds.

Israelites were a chosen people, and for God to fulfil his promise to Abraham, the inhabitants of Canaan had to die. The Canaanites worshipped pagan gods or idols so on God’s agenda they were a hindrance to the Kingdom’s expansion. We see Moses instructing Israelites never to mix with them and follow after their gods.

and when the Lord your God delivers them over to you, you shall conquer them and utterly destroy them. You shall make no covenant with them nor show mercy to them. Nor shall you make marriages with them. You shall not give your daughter to their son, nor take their daughter for your son. For they will turn your sons away from following Me, to serve other gods; so the anger of the Lord will be aroused against you and destroy you suddenly. But thus you shall deal with them: you shall destroy their altars, and break down their sacred pillars, and cut down their wooden images, and burn their carved images with fire. “For you are a holy people to the Lord your God; the Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth.
Deuteronomy 7:2‭-‬6 NKJV

There is no room for compromising with the enemy, every altar erected for the pagan gods should be destroyed. Everyone in captivity by the enemy should be set free. Hell should be emptied we can’t negotiate biblical principles with the heathens. Poverty should be eradicated in our midst if we are to prosper as a church, thus anything linking us to a dependency mindset on other cultures for ideas and financial accumulation should be stopped.

It’s high time the church as a unit gets involved in changing our communities. We are the salt of the earth, the light of Jesus Christ in us can’t be hidden anymore in the name of religion. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is not just some religion it is a way of life.

“Therefore know that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments; and He repays those who hate Him to their face, to destroy them. He will not be slack with him who hates Him; He will repay him to his face. Therefore you shall keep the commandment, the statutes, and the judgments which I command you today, to observe them.
Deuteronomy 7:9‭-‬11 NKJV

If you love God, you honour his principles. Respecting a kingdom law will inevitably allow your extended life and freedom. Every Kingdom has a constitution hence to govern with dominion without condemnation we have to adopt Heavenly kingdom principles. The laws of every nation can show what the government of that nation is promoting. The laws God gave to Moses promoted love.Perfect love is the goal.

It is of utmost importance to check out your thoughts and habits with this checklist you will determine who is the brain of your life. Most patterns we embrace are rooted in the beliefs of our parents and communities. Thus to break the cycle of a common sin and a curse we need to change our mindset and adopt the word of God as a way of life.

Jesus is the way the truth and the life thus true wisdom can only be found in him. In him is the fullness of being. Perfect love casts away fear, to have perfect love we need Jesus Christ. With that wisdom, it is evident that fear only results from imperfect love. Identifying with Christ is the favorable decision for mankind today.

Embrace the Journey

Most of your life will be spent in the journey, not the destination. Life is precious and each day isn’t guaranteed. If you put all your happiness in the destination, you’ll be very disappointed when you get there. This goes for physique changes, financial health, and relationships; once you reach the goal you have set ,it surprisingly isn’t as sweet as you imagined it. Find solace and peace with the journey to getting there; this is where the real magic happens.

Acknowledge the stage you’re in and be grateful for the experience. The hard times won’t last and instead of feeling overwhelmed, stressed, and negative, are knowing that on the other side you’ll be wiser and more resilient. Wisdom is normally hidden in battle keep pushing.

Take the Leap

Spending too much time thinking about “what ifs” only delay the action. None of us can predict what the future holds and no matter the outcome, just have confidence in yourself that you can handle it. Often the hardest part is letting go of expectations of what things “should” be or succumbing the trap of perfectionism, when what we really need to do is let down our walls, invite possibility of failure in and ACT.

Often the hardest part is letting go of expectations of what things “should” be or succumbing the trap of perfectionism, when what we really need to do is let down our walls, invite possibility of failure in and ACT.

Be Intentional and Live Powerfully

With your time, your money, your actions. With your training program, your nutrition plan, which people you choose to be in your life. Seek to find the “Why” behind everything. Be present, refine your skills, choose to respond vs. react, and expand your thoughts and comfort zones. Increase focus on creating the experience rather than letting things happen to you.

Discipline Equals Freedom

Never be afraid of failure. The only person you can control is you. So focus on making yourself who you want to be: Faster. Stronger. Smarter. More humble. Less ego. Act in according to your values and your goals; Discipline means taking the hard road—the uphill road. To do what is right, for you and for others so you can achieve the greatness you have envisioned for yourself. It will put you on the path to strength, health, intelligence and happiness. And most important, discipline will put you on the path to freedom.

You Are Your Thoughts

Ghandi said:

“Your beliefs become your thoughts,
Your thoughts become your words,
Your words become your actions,
Your actions become your habits,
Your habits become your values,
Your values become your destiny.”

Excuses only sound good to the person making them. The only way to truly become the person you want to be is by acting in the way that she acts; starting right now.

Your thoughts control your body and your body reciprocally controls your thoughts. If you’re feeling sad, try putting a smile on your face, even if it is the last thing that you want to do. Fake a smile, and feel how your body starts to feel lighter. Sometimes a change in our physical state is all that it takes to create a change in our mental state. Smile more, laugh more, and don’t take life so seriously.

Failure Only Comes If You Quit

Otherwise it just gives you lessons and perspective for new opportunities. Life is too short to not take those chances, to not take that leap. Every experience is an opportunity to learn from and be better the next time around. We only truly fail when we decide to give up instead of finding another way. Time cures all and you’ll live with much less regret by trying and failing, rather than not trying at all. Don’t take no for an answer, especially when it comes to your goals and dreams.

Trust Your Intuition

When something feels off, it is. Be in or be out. Let your Yes be yes or your no be no. Be 100% in the relationship, in the job, in your travels, in your decisions. We all have that little voice inside us telling us what we should do; don’t be afraid to listen to it.

Never Compromise on Yourself

Your integrity is the thread of your existence. Live according to YOUR values, no one else’s and do what you know in your heart is right. Don’t let the judgement of others stop you from speaking out or doing what you need to do. In the end, your word, your follow through, and your perseverance when things are tough are what will matter most.
