When the angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon, he said, “The Lord is with you, mighty warrior.” “Pardon me, my Lord,” Gideon replied, “but if the Lord is with us, why has all this happened to us? Where are all his wonders that our ancestors told us about when they said, ‘Did not the Lord bring us up out of Egypt?’ But now the Lord has abandoned us and given us into the hand of Midian.” The Lord turned to him and said, “Go in the strength you have and save Israel out of Midian’s hand. Am I not sending you?”

From our previous discussion, we noticed the impact of spiritual entities depicted by the Midianites in the Gideon era. We uncovered how they are glad to let you put together things but they don’t authorize you to feed on your endeavor. In simple terms, they allow you to build a connection and nurture it to expansion but they don’t authorize you to marry or get married to the dream you built.
They bring about a spirit that is being referred to lately as a spirit of almost. You will be telling people how you nearly reaped a million tonnes but the Midianites took all you laboured for. Living under these vicious masters makes you live in tension accordingly you commence building in fear knowing that whenever you are prospering and stimulating anything they are waiting to take all you laboured for.
We have noticed that marine spirits similarly do function in the same technique they demolish every marriage/relationship you build..but they don’t have a problem with you committing adultery. Just when you expect marriage then everything goes haywire. Being born under this yoke is a big problem since we get manipulated to the idea of functioning hard for nothing thus we get blind to the truth that once we destroy this evil opponent we will have true sovereignty.
Gideon was regarded as the mighty warrior
Gideon could not understand why he would be referred to as a warrior when he was seeding and nurturing his crop in secret. To me, I think he was like,’ How can you call me a warrior, can’t you see I am living in fear I myself am failing to defend myself from this enemy,How on earth are you expecting me to destroy this enemy for my kinsmen “
If you have found yourself in this crisis where you have tried many things in life and just when you are about to testify about the breakthroughs the miracle simply disappears you are now convinced that this enemy always comes at the point of your breakthrough and everyone notices your potential but there is nothing to show for your potential this message is for you. It’s not fair for everyone else to see your potential but there is nothing to show for it.
You are the warrior in this battle it’s time to take your correct position in battle
Maybe you have been postponing for something else or for the situation to change. God is saying this is the time for you to rise from your slumber and start attacking the enemy. You have been chosen to lead in this battle. You are not being chosen because of your capacity God chooses you because of his capacity that is you win not because you are capable but you win because of his capabilities.
The Midianites were very powerful and were cruel to the Israelites. So the Israelites made many hiding places in the mountains. They hid their food in caves and places that were hard to find. They did that because the Midianites and Amalekites from the east always came and destroyed their crops. They camped in the land and destroyed the crops that the Israelites had planted. They ruined the crops of the Israelites as far as the land near the city of Gaza. They did not leave anything for the Israelites to eat. They did not even leave them any sheep, cattle, or donkeys. The Midianites came with their families, animals, and tents. They were like a swarm of locusts! They and their camels were too many to count. They came into the land and ruined it. The Israelites became very poor because of the Midianites. So the Israelites cried to the Lord for help.

It could be a funny situation whereby a lot of Gideons are suffering because they are waiting for validation from their friends and family whereas the only validation you want in this life is from God. Fear blinds your imagination, fear blinds you of possibilities, and fear positions you for failure. As long as you surrender to fear you’ll be a slave to limitation and stagnation This is the time to rise above mediocrity and say NO to every limiting factor in our lives.
Fear invalidates action. With fear, you become a sculpture whereas your counterparts are proceeding towards their destinies. Fear even determines friends f you choose ….you tend to prefer validation from people, so you come to terms with anything less than what you deserve if no one is cheering you on your journey. Sadly most of us settle for accolades from our peers rather than seeking divine instructions for our lives.
Gideon was justified in doubting the angel. Fear incapacitates vision, fear weakens your body organs. Fear clouds your reasoning. A man shaken with fear acts like a child. Fear reduces a man to act like a kid. Fear dilutes honour. When fear is the captain, mediocrity is the order of the day.
To clear our minds from this master, we need to confront fear ….This is the season to go against the tide…What our forefathers regarded as masters we need to start challenging those beliefs, what stopped our parents from achieving tangible success mustn’t stop you. Say no to mediocre!
The first step is recognising the tactics of the enemy. Gideon was in the process of preparing his harvest in a secret space away from the enemy radar when the Angel approached him. He realised that as long as he publicly harvested the enemies would sieze his produce. You need to see the tactics of the enemy and be off their radar.
The problem is that most of us can’t live a private life. The enemy can’t attack what he doesn’t see. In modern warfare, the art of being invisible is regarded as one of the most pivotal specialities in gaining a victory. Be invisible. Why parade your marital problems to the world, deal with those issues in-house till you get a common ground to win as a couple.
Instead of complaining and murmuring about how bad things are, this is the season to find a way that warranties result in this bad economy. The problem with people with this habit of complaining is that they never notice opportunities for growth in any situation, Everything looks dull to them. Their husband is bad, their wife is bad, they hate their job, and they even complain about their pastors. They go to the extreme of expecting governments to feed their families.
Own up. This is your life, you are in charge don’t expect someone to come and feed you like a baby. Your life, your mistakes, your battles thus be intentional in winning. Gideon had already found a solution to his problem, Yes his solution only benefited him and not the whole community but it was working for him.
One time the angel of the Lord came to a place called Ophrah and sat under an oak tree. This oak tree belonged to a man named Joash from the Abiezer family. His son Gideon was beating some wheat in a winepress. He was hiding so that the Midianites could not see the wheat. The angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon and said, “The Lord be with you, brave soldier.”

Gideon had an uncommon solution, even though his method was awkward. The Angel went on to call him a man of valour. Imagine a brave soldier beating some wheat in a winepress. Fear has reduced brave soldiers to mere weaklings. But in that situation Gideon was managing the situation, ensuring they had food on the table.
Giving up is disastrous, never allow fear to deprive you of your destiny. Israelites have sinned and they have started worshipping foreign gods. Thus I AM THAT I AM had allowed Medianites to torment them. Suffering at times is a result of God correcting us. He is a jealous God. The best we can do is to repent from our sins and come back to God.
To win the battle against these gods you need to be in alignment with Yahweh. This is the time to revisit our lives and cry out to God who scrubs away our sins and accepts us back under his covering. Yes, he is quick to listen to a prayer of repentance. We need to empty ourselves and get rid of every heavy load that gives authority to the devil to enslave us.
It’s not too late to ask God for forgiveness. It doesn’t matter how many bad habits we have accrued, we can still empty ourselves. Die to self and be alive to Christ. We need to die from trying to do what everyone else is doing and start pursuing what God wants in our lives. Israelites tried to fit in with local people this they ended up worshipping idols. You don’t have to fit in …try standing out instead.
It’s possible to live a life pleasing to God. By God’s grace, I pray that you will have the courage to bow down on your knees, confess your sins and beg for his forgiveness. I pray that you grow from a dependent spirit and learn to speak up, as long as you have God on your side you will win in the land of the living.
Challenge every medianite element you see in your life. Resist the devil and he will flee!
